The yearly award ‘bragdguldet’, announced since 1925 by the newspaper Svenska dagbladet, was this year given to alpine skier Anja parson.

The award is according to the statute given to “the biggest sport achievement of the year”. This was the second consecutive year that Pärson got the award. Only three persons have received it twice before, namely Björn Borg (tennis), Ingemar Stenmark (alpine sking) and Jan-Owe Waldner (ping pong). An individual sportsman can not recieve the price more than twice.
Pärson won five individual medals, out of which three were gold, in last winter’s world championships in Åre, Sweden.
