Earlier this week, the Swedish football player Alexander Gerndt was sentenced for physical abuse of his ex-wife. Gerndt got a conditional sentence and has to pay a damage of SEK 80,000. The Swedish football association has announced that Gerndt is suspended from the national team because of this sentence. Gerndt denies abusing his ex-wife.

"This was not an easy decision, but we were unanimous. We want to emphasize that it is not OK to abuse a woman", says Lars-Åke Lagrell  to Expressen.
