ADVERT:

The Christian Democrats has changed their mind regarding obligatory sterilization for people who want to change sex. The law will now be changed so that a man who wants to become a woman or vice versa can do so without having to give up the prospect of becoming a parent.

All the other parties in the Riksdag already wanted to enforce this change but as one of the four parties in the coalition government, the Christian Democrats could perhaps have stopped it. The board of the party writes in an article in DN today that they still see it as problematic that a person who is legally a man (but previously a woman) will be able to give birth to a child but that this has less significance than the counter arguments. They reach this conclusion by referring to the natural law and Christian tradition.
