The recent public criticism of the banking sector has led to a severely impaired working environment for bank employees. This according to a survey carried out by the Financial Sector Union of Sweden.
According to the survey, conducted during February, more than 90 per cent of union members told they have been exposed to criticism during meetings with customers.
Moreover, almost all respondents felt that the criticism from politicians and media have hampered the work considerably in terms of client contact.
For example, Finance Minister Anders Borg has repeatedly made public statements that banks should reduce interest rates on mortgages.
