Today there was a trial against three persons who are accused of bank robbery in Malmö. But something is a bit unusual with them. They are older then the typical bank robber. They are 53, 64 and 70 years old. They are charged for five serious robberies during the period 2007-2010, in which they "were shooting and used explosives". The trio has even got the nickname 'Gubb-ligan' which means 'geezer league' or 'old-man league.
The investigation contains 7,000 pages and is mostly based on taped telephone-calls. The police has also found explosives, shotguns, handgrenades, balaclava hoods etc. The trial is expected to continue until October. (Helsingborgs Dagblad)
