It all started when the book "Den ofrivillige monarken" (The unwilling monarch) was published a year ago. This book contains both outright allegations and insinuations that King Carl Gustaf has visited a number of strip clubs and has had a number of affairs even after he married Queen Silvia.
The time after this book has been full of allegations back and forth. But one important factor is that a known gangster in Sweden Mille Markovic has claimed that he has several photos which reveal the king in "inappropriate" locations. Today finally one of these claimed photos was published. We can see a person sitting in the background looking like the King and young women dancing in front of him.
Experts: the picture is manipulated
Expressen had three experts analyse the picture: the British LGC Forensics in Neuts, Audio Video Forensics Ltd in Stockport and thirdly a Swedish compnay which is anonymous (for security reasons according to Expressen. All three conclude that the picture has been manipulated to some degree.
The picture is according to the experts drawn from an analogue video recording. A "Rec"-symbol is also pasted into the picture and also cross in the centre, both to strengthen the feeling of a hidden camera. According to Expressen, all three experts raise some doubt about the man in the picture, the King according to Mille Markovic. Audio Video Forensics concludes that there is a rectangular field around the man's face which might indicate that the face has been switched.
Iain MacArthur at Audio Video Forensics concludes his report as follows:
"There is a great risk that the picture is compiled from several different photos" (quote from Expressen, translated by Stockholm News).
Andrew Philip Laws at LGC Forensics draws a rather similar conclusion:
"The picture has been an object for grave manipulation. I some cases the content is hidden and in other it might have been obscured. It is my opinion that a male person may have been pasted into the picture", says Philips to Expressen. (Stockholm News translation)
The picture can be found in a movie-clip in the online newspage of Expressen.
The court: The King spoke the truth
The information director at the court, Bertil Ternert has seen the picture and also gotten the information that it is most likely manipulated.
"It feels really good that someone is critically scrutinising this information. We are really happy about that.", says Ternert to Expressen (Stockholm News translation)
When Expressen met Bertil Ternert, the King was still not informed about the alleged manipulation of the photo.
"I will certainly inform the King. I can just conclude that he has spoken the truth in this matter since May", says Ternert to Expressen (Stockholm News translation).
The picture is from a video-clip that is about 20 years old.
