“I can’t see Sweden accepting this proposal. We need more analyses. The proposal is just an attempt to avoid the real problems” said Reinfeldt to the parliamentary committee on EU-affairs according to the daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
Reinfeldt also criticized the idea with euro bonds. He said that it is not even good for the countries in trouble since they would be able to borrow money cheaper instead of dealing with their problems.
The idea of a banking union and more coordination of EU’s fiscal and financial policies have weak support in the Swedish parliament. Or, as Reinfeldt put it to the site Europaportalen.se, “I have gotten a mandate from the Riksdag to be very critical”.
